Namco Bandai’s newly released iOS game Galaga 30th Collection is going down a storm with the critics and commentators, with several naming it as a must-have game. The free compilation has been released in honour of the 30th anniversary of the much-loved space arcade shooter Galaga, which was first released in North America in 1981. The app is universal, so will work on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, and comes complete with a free copy of Galaxian, with more classic Galaga titles available through in-app purchases. The app is designed to act as a hub for the Galaga universe across all iOS devices, and features redesigned modernized remakes of all four titles in the Galaga series: Galaxian, Galaga, Gaplus and Galaga ’88.
The new Galaga features updated graphics, optimised touch-screen controls and an all-new Galaga Points system, where players can earn Galaga Points to spend on items to improve their ships. Players who really excel at the game can collect achievement pins across the whole game series to boost their in-game accomplishments.
