Free offline GPS?

Hello, I have offline GPS maps available on my Nokia mobile but strangely enough I have a hard time finding free offline maps for the iPad?
For the time being I can only use the GPS together with an internet connection and since I do not have 3G access it renders it pretty useless, so is it possible that there is no such corresponding GPS App to the Ipad?

Try the Navfree app and see if that suits your needs...

It's a big app, of course, because of the size of the maps and it's country specific, but you'll see it gets great reviews almost universallly....

Sorry I don't think so, well not in my app store here in Australia. Have a look in the app store.

I gave it a try and I must say it is not as pretty looking like iPad Maps or Nokia OVI, and the screen update is somehow very slow but for the time being it serves its purpose so thanks.

It's a bit like the TomTom satnav format - so I guess it's something you get used to....
