Game Center vs Non Game Center

I just downloaded the "Game Center" and I am somewhat new to the iPad and the whole gaming realm. So, what is the difference between just playing the games the way I have been and now playing them in the "game center"? If it is so much better how do I get my games moved into to the game center?

Thanks in advance for somewhat novice questions, I am sure.

Not all games use game center, it is used to connect users of certain apps, and keeps record of achievements aquired by completing different parts ofnthe game, like on xbox 360
