thanks Richard,that was the first Hosta i had,a friend gave me a small piece a long time back,i have split some off it from time to time,you should work on getting one in,they really are a show piece once they get established.

Our lawn is flowering in between cuts. The flowers have appeared at least 3 times over the past 2 weeks.....











I haven't seen it flower in such rapid succession before.

I have a few hostas but the ones I treasure most came from two shoots from my mothers garden that came from my grandfather's garden. There's one plain green and one green and white. Now my children all have shoots from those plants in their gardens. My grand father would really be surprised. Or maybe that's why they've always done so well.

I to love best the plants I got from my late Mothers garden. every year I say hi Mom when they peek out or when they bloom.This year her floribundas pink climbing rose really took off and we will pick it bare and send them off with her ashes as my family is descending to spread her ashes on the ocean from whence we all came..

I was amused with this arrangement. It's a bit military!



Then, here is one of our Peony shrubs ready to burst out.




This specimen is from the copper beech. When the nuts are riper, the squirrels will get to work feasting on the nuts and filling our garden with litter. Sigh. Later in the year we will be busy collecting the husks which are hard and spikey.

The squirrels I hear have just sent out an alert warning to begin their journey to your house for copper beech delights! Watch out!
