Cannot get my gmail on my iPad message says wrong name and password, but they work on my laptop. Was-able to get the messages on the browser. How to access the browser again?

I never used iCloud because my ipad is still under 5.0.

I get this from time to time but then it just downloads my email anyway. Make sure your account is @gmail.com and not @googlemail.com because for some reason mine did not work when I had this like this.
