True to their word, over Christmas the Gorillaz released their latest album, which was recorded entirely on iPad, online for free. According to Switched, frontman Damon Albarn used approximately 20 apps to record the album, including Mugician, Funkbox and Xenon. The album is called The Fall, took just one month to record, and also features former members of legendary Punk Rock group The Clash, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, as well as soul legend Bobby Woman on vocals and guitar on a track fittingly entitled Bobby in Phoenix. Gorillaz fan club members can download the album for free, while anyone else can listen to the music as it’s streamed on the band’s website: 25th after first signing up for the Gorillaz mailing list, of course! There’s even a list detailing when and where each track was recorded on the US tour. It’s expected that The Fall will also get a physical release at some point in the new year.
