I just got this IPAD and was trying to add my gmail. It requires my password which has the "*" key. Is there a secret way to type the *
Help need * key!

Hi QC - welcome to the forum! 
The * key takes a few steps - from the standard typing menu, select the '.?123' menu, then look to the left and choose the '#+=' menu which will bring you to plenty more symbols, including the asterisk key - let us know if this works for you - shortcuts can also be setup so another possibly easier option than paging through all of these menus - good luck!
