Hi to everyone. My name is Elinor and I am presently living in Cyprus. I bought my iPad 3 here in June. I managed to activate Facetime to speak to my son via his iPhone. Last weekend I had the opportunity to use it to speak to a new contact via her new iPad. Kept getting the message "not available." Advice online seemed to be switch off Facetime and switch on again. I did that and now Facetime will not accept my Apple ID password. Have reset my password umpteen times, no joy. Have I been locked out of Facetime? No one seems to be able to help. New to technology so would appreciate help. Forum seems to say lots of people having problems since update to iOS 6 whatever that means!!! Expensive piece of equipment not to work. Thank you for your help hopefully. PS. Is there a number to contact Apple support?

Do you get a popup showing a 502 error? In that case, this thread may possibly help.

An iPad purchased in the UAE cannot run FaceTime. There is no way to install it.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Try a reset of your iPad and then try again.

Reset - Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Let us know how you go.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I'm afraid KevinJS is right, an iPad bought in the UAE is fundamentally different to other iPads sold elsewhere due to government regulations. If you have bought it from an Apple store I suggest you return it and buy it elsewhere outside of the UAE. Otherwise, a good substitute is Skype.
