Help Printing/scanning from/to ipad using printer brother Mfc 490cw?

My brother printer Mfc 490 cw connects to my home network, via wizard, no problem. But when I hit scann button, it say " check connection" . Also, I cannot print or scann from my iPad. I have I print and scan app,, where I have selected this printer in settings. My iPad is connected to the same network as my printer. I have tried to return printer to factory settings, and connect to network again, but it didn't solve the problem. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance. P.S. this is wi if enabled printer.

Odds are your router is the choke point. You may need to setup port forwarding to resolve this issue. Would suggest you contact Brothers to find out what ports need to be forwarded and your router manufacurer to find out how to add those settings.
