What's new

Home Sweet home (Chat)

I really can't take sides, I'm from Ft Worth but Dallas has the "Big City" feeling in the South Central US. I like Fort Worth because it has a peaceful feeling to it, and I'll love it when they add new mid rises on the Islands that they are making. I can't wait to go on a boat, in the trinity river, and I also can't wait for the river walk :)

I'm just clarifying that an island is surrounded by water, and that is what the city is doing with the river, they are going to surround a large area of land with canals and the Trinity River.

42nd precinct, Yankee Stadium area, Miles and I were awoken by bagpipes. What, BAGPIPES!!! So we got out of bed and went our beloved terrace to see what was going on. I thought someone might have died so I wanted to pay my respects, just in case. Still not sure, they went on to march around the corner where there is a church and bagpipes stopped. So may-be.

Bagpipes? The only thing that wakes me up each morning is my neighbors cats which start fighting with each other each morning -.- , they have 4 cats and they all seem the same color but I'm really not sure if they have more, all the cats are the same color lol

Lived there for two years and you didn't mention the Amon Carter, the Modern or the Kimbell, all great places to go again and again (was there for the old and new modern)
Really loved the town, got there right after the tornado damaged Bank 1 building. Has a nice little Zoo, a beautiful campus TCU, great bike riding (used to ride and skate next to the river), really nice botanical gardens - just a wonderful place to live.
Much better than Dallas, not near the traffic, but only TCU for sports had to go over to the dark side for any pro sports (or Arlington)

What year did you live in Fort Worth? And why did you move, most websites claim Fort Worth will add more jobs, for example if they loose about 400 jobs, an industry or company moves in and offer twice as that amount. Fort Worth is predicted to have a super low unemployed rate (which is good) Hopefully the city will add more tall buildings :)

When I was in Massachusetts I lived on this little lake for a couple of years just outside of Springfield and my neighbor used to feed these wild feral cats that would climb on the screens and fight all night long. Felt like a jungle with all the howling and hissing - hadn't thought about that place for quite a while.

Down there 2002 and 2003 (LT for Heisman ;) )
Left for the mountains in north west Colorado - stunning, but harsh

Is it bad to wish that a tornado hits your Cities Downtown? ( But people would know where it's hitting so everyone would evacuate ) The only reason I wished that in my city, it's because that's the only way the city and its companies remodel there old buildings, I know it's messed up but Fort Worth had a tornado in 2001 and they had to demolish buildings. The buildings that where demolished got restored the second the garbage was gone, and Fort Worth added more Modern Buildings :(

On this picture if you look at the square building to your right, that was destroyed by the tornado and rebuilt

The Skyscraper to your left use to be a office building that also got destroyed but was rebuilt and is now a condominium, *Sigh lol looks like the only way my city will look newer is if there's a tornado that damages everything. :/ oh well

Yay Where I live we made the list of the fastest growing cities again for 2013 of the first month, this is like the 15th time Dallas-FortWorth-Arlington has Been in the top 10 fastest growing cities according to Forbes (very reliable site) and Houston has dropped to 6th, Austin is 1st and DFW has also been ranked 2nd in the "Places that Americans are relocating to" according to Yahoo!News (DFW was also ranked second in the fastest growing cities for 2012 and beginning of 2013) I love it here according to the cities information DFW will eventually have the majority if people employed and unemployment will be super low, houses are cheap, DFW has a booming economy :D DFW has also been known to host many events and has joined a bid for the X Games by ESPN and has made an Olympic game bid for the year 2024 (Dallas is ranked 9th out of 50 cities in the US as a sport city and is the biggest sport city in Texas) We already hosted the Superbowl and might be able to again in 4 years

Yay Fort Worth will now be home to the largest airline company in the world :) The company is moving from Phoenix, Arizona to Fort Worth, Texas (Where I live) So DFW is going to add even more jobs

Nice, that will make it even easier to get in and out of

But since there isn't many airlines anymore there is no need for competition so the prices of a plane ticket should be more expensive :/ and planes need fuel which may also be a factor for raising the price of tickets
