I connect maybe once every two months, maybe longer.

Every few days - basically when I charge it.

Unlike Tim I don't mind iTunes. It makes it easy for me to add books, music, comics etc for the Apps I am using.

I have installed dropbox (on my epad, ipad and computer) but I find itunes much more convenient.

Mind you I have a strict backup routine so if iTunes ever screws up I am not going to lose anything.

I don't connect to my PC (an HP TouchSmart) that often. Only to update mostly. My iPad [1] is still running on 4.something because I don't want to lose all of my jailbroken material that I've accumulated over the year.
But my iPad II is running 5.0.1 & I only plugged it into the computer once or twice.
