How to connect to wifi generated by mobile phone?

I can turn my smartphone into a wifi hotspot. Then I can connect my Windows Vista PC to this network and browse the web.

But in ipad, also I can see this network and connect, Safari says it is not connected!

Is it something not possible in ipad? How does ipad understand whether it is coming from mobile phone or my ADSL modem?

Check ur IP settings. Does ur hotspot have DHCP?


Also, not with iPad but other Mac stuff, ssid and pass must be of certain length.

What is DHCP? I am using Joikuspot lite app in Symbian phone to generate wifi hotspot. This does not have any password.
