what can i do to ensure i have blobs so when jailbreak ipad 2 comes out im ready
and yes i have read the faqs

First, some reassurance: You don't need to have SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0.1 to jail break the iPad2 on that firmware (WHEN it's released). All you need to do is wait for the jail break to be released (when it is released) and then all you have to do is apply the jail break to your iPad2 that is already on iOS 5.0.1.

All Tiny Umbrella does is save blobs, you don't use it for anything else at this point. With the iPad2 plugged in (and iTunes closed), open Tiny Umbrella. Your iPad should show in the left column. When it does, merely click on the "Save All SHSH" button on the right side, near the top. That is all you do.

For now, SHSH blobs for the iPad2 are, essentially, worthless, because they can't be used. But, it's still good to run Tiny Umbrella and save them - just in case.

Hope this helps.

Don't you need the blobs to restore if you want to remove the jailbreak and put it back to factory, like you never jailbroke, for Apple warranty type issues if needed? I'm running into the same issue when I tried to restore back to factory. Wanted to remove the jailbreak to upgrade the iOS.

No, you just restore to the latest version of iOS if you need to return your iPad to Apple.
