I have never been a big tv buff. I don't watch much TV either but I am a major movie buff I love movies and I will love my iPad 2 and streaming with air play.

I am set on a 42 inch VIZIO

But I don't know I I need

LED
LCD
OR VIA

I font know the difference between LCD and led but they sound complex.

If I'm not watching does 720 and 1080 matter. What about MHz?

Also I wouldn't need the via if I decide to buy apple tv. Perks of it as well?

Any suggestions would be helpful. My max price range is $750

Help!!!

Best buy or walmart look for a sale

If I catch a sale that may be a good idea. I have been looking on walmart. I don't mind refurb so any links would be helpful.

I bought a 42 inch LCD panasonic off amazon for 499 shipped. Amazon also has a good return policy so if you got a bad tv then it's easy to exchange.

Make sure to get one that is at least 120 MHz. I believe the higher speed will give you better quality on fast moving scenes.

For real tv buffs, check out the avforum forum.

How is the panasonic? I'm pretty set on VIZIO. I have struggles with disappointment so if I didn't get what I wanted, I wouldn't use it or send it back.

i have both a 1080 jvc 52 lcd and 42 plasma lg 720p you will happy with any one i were you i would get the biggest tv i could buy no one every wish they got a smaller tv and for the price range your in the plasma is the best bang for the buck and you will love viewing movies on plasma

I love the panasonic TC-L42U25 42 inch 1080p 120 Hz. I can hook up my Mac or iPad up to it via HDMI and also send audio through the HDMI connection. The only thing I would want more of is an additional HDMI connection. This tv has 2 HDMI inputs.

The picture quality is fantastic. I use it for Netflix viewing and playing video podcasts through my Mac.

I've also had friends buy Vizio, and they looked just fine.
