i tunes on ipad2

have just got my ipad2. Synched it with my mac book. My i tunes have been copied over to the i pad - it tells me there are 600 tunes there BUT how do I access them. there is no icon (as on my i pod touch) and .
all the i tunes logo does is take me to the store
How do I get them especially when I am off line?

Music is put into the iPod app on the iPad - just to confuse you!!
