The IBM MobileFirst for iOS apps are now available for business users in the banking, retail, insurance, financial services and telecommunications for governments and airlines sectors. IBM and Apple have referred to this joint venture as “unprecedented collaboration.”
IBM also revealed that such companies as Citi, Air Canada, Sprint and Banorte are among the first customers for the new apps.
"What we're delivering aims directly at the new quest of business—smart technologies that unlock new value at the intersection of big data and individual engagement," said Bridget van Kralingen, senior vice president, IBM Global Business Services. "Our collaboration combines IBM's industry expertise and unmatched position in enterprise computing, with Apple's legendary user experience and excellence in product design to lift the performance of a new generation of business professionals."
The apps are iPhone- and iPad-only, and are delivered securely, complete with embedded analytics, linked to core enterprise processes. They can be customized to suit any organization, and are designed to be seamlessly deployed, managed, and upgraded via the cloud.
