Quick introduction. I have had my I-Pad 2 for several months. I know I'm only utilizing at most, 20% of what this baby is capable of. Of course now, deep regrets are setting in at my impulse buy! Grrrr, I want the 3! Ahhh well, soon enough the 4 will be here, as this cycle is never ending. I began my Apple love long ago with the I-Mac. I will say, it's not all been roses with this I-Pad. I've found many things problematic that shouldn't be. Maybe they aren't and I can find the answers here. Great to be here.

Welcome to the iPad Forum. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Same as it ever was. The great thing is that your iPad2 will be useful for years to come, unlike PCs which can become obsolete almost overnight.

Fire away with your questions and we'll try to help where we can.

Hi all, iPad noob from the UK introducing himself :D
Just got my first ipad (3) and loving it so far (thats when I can get it off my 8 yr old daughter lol) Wasnt sure about the ipad at first, being a bit of an android fan...am I allowed to say that :D and having a Samsung galaxy phone I was leaning toward the galaxy tab. Wanting a tablet for work it slightly put me off with the lack of flash (i'm a graphic designer and web designer) but with flash slowley being replaced with css3 and html5 it eventually wont bean issue and as I work on a mac everyday it seemed a more logical choice. Would like to look into maybe jailbreaking IF it could be of benefit for what i need, but for now just having fun playing hahaha. I'm certain i'll have plenty of questions hope you can help a noob out :)

Hi there! Medu here from York, England...where to start...Um, I suffer from a nasty little illness called FibroMyalgia Syndrome and one of the worst symptoms of it, for me, is the chronic pain I've had for so long now. It is also one of those awful diseases that are 'invisible', resulting in a lot of 'but you don't LOOK ill' remarks by well meaning people. Still, there are plenty of folk worse off, aren't there. I spend an awful lot of time with my 'true loves' - I.e. my 'toys'. Love my 2 iPads, my Kindle, laptop, watch an awful lot of DVDs (I'm a complete die-hard Stargate fan) and work from home as a proof reader. Love my 3 cats to bits and that's about it, really. Im just about house bound and would appreciate any and all contact 'cuz it gets a bit lonely. I'm sure there are a lot of disabled members here and I would love to hear from any fellow FMS sufferers especially, having had it for 15 years, since back when doctors either didn't believe in it and thought it was all in my head or knew bugger all about it and used me as a guinea pig whilst they learned . spending 18 months in bed? Not fun

Hi Medu and welcome to the Forum!

I'm sorry to hear about your illness and feel for you with what you must go through in life but you will find a nice community here and even learn along the way. As well as the many forums dedicated to the iPad, we also have an Off Topic Forum here where members have a chat and share their everyday lives, check it out anyway, I'm sure you'll find topics of interest.

'Tis me, myself, in person, personally

Who am I? The last time I looked in the mirror I looked almost exactly, but not quite, just like Me. And very handsome I looked too, although I must remember to get the bathrroom light repaired as it's pitch black in there.

Why am I called iBozz? Well, why not? It came out top of the all time list of names which parents would under no circumstances choose to call their offspring. And I've been called it (sans the leading "i") since given the name by a schoolteacher back in the days well before school exams became so easy.

What do I do for a living? Nothing whatsoever. I'm a retired itinerant and indolent freelance Mountebank, Charlatan and Purveyor of Synthetic Recycled Silicon Snake Oil to the Congenitally Gullible and Terminally Stupid - or Management and IT Security Consultant as my CV misleadingly claimed.

In what am I interested? Avoiding creditors, tax inspectors and the Vice Squad; collecting toothbrush bristles; acquiring unlimited supplies of Viagra; Rugby Union; Cryptic crosswords; cryptography; and Multiple Sclerosis research. I also volunteer for the UK's National Trust, Multiple Sclerosis Society, the RNLI and I volunteer as backstage crew for a professional theatre. Which is why I have no time to earn a living!

What have I got? A 64GB G4 iPad; a 27" quad-core i7 iMac with 16GB RAM running under MacOSX.6.8; two old G4 machines under MacOSX.4.11, all three running Stanford University's Folding@Home (I can't post links as I'm still on probation, but you can copy and paste folding.stanford.edu/ into your browser). If you fancy helping not for profit distributed computing medical research, why not give it a try - and by all means join me in team 37761, Swannys Irregulars.

Why did I join iPF? Because I'm struggling with the iPad a bit. It may be intuitive, but my congenital stupidity makes me admit that I need help sometimes!
