The refreshed iPad mini 4 that is nearly identical to the iPad Air 2, but the guys over at iFixit as always are curious to discover more details inside the device. As it was pretty much expected, the repair team's findings confirm that its specs are similar to the iPad Air.

The iPad mini 4 comes with a fully laminated screen technology, resulting in a thinner design. Furthermore, the glass and display are adhered together, giving it a more rigid design and making screen repairs more difficult. iFixit discoverd that the iPad mini has retained a battery design that makes it easy to disconnect, different from the larger iPads.

Another similarity between the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 is that the Touch ID cable is now integrated directly into the display cable. When it comes to the battery, the iPad mini 4’s power supply is both smaller and thinner than the iPad mini 3’s.

iFixit gives the iPad mini 4 a 2 out of 10 for repairability, praising the device just for the easily removable battery. Still, it's better than the iPad Air 2 which received a 2 out of 10 for repairability, as did the iPad mini 3.
