It was taken by a friend in Australia. I've heard that the light has a special quality and this illustrates it well IMHO.

A little more than 100 years? What was it called before, and was it part of another province?
Before 1905, the area comprising the Province of Saskatchewan was part of the North-West Territories. Here's a website that explains about the creation of Saskatchewan. It has some very good maps. http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/confederation/kids/023002-2100-e.html
