YUMMY - KUDO's to all of you for sharing such beautiful places on earth! Thanks!

I actually have a piece of jewelry made by Dow Reid! It is an ivory or whale tooth/bone shaped anchor with a round ball of jade where the two points of the anchor end. I love it!
He built the most beautiful wooden sailboat I have ever seen in my life. I have no idea if it ever got into the water though! The sculpting of the woodwork was magical!

Take a picture of the thermometer!

It actually wasn't hot, maybe 75F when we left Baker this morning after touring Great Basin National Park.

Here's the Castle at Austin, Nevada, near our motel for tonight.image-1435827202.webp

I couldn't find the data card for my digital camera, so today at a vintage motorcycle show I was one of those annoying people taking pictures with an iPad. ;)

Those are great photos EPB. It is good to see a couple of European makes there - BMW & BSA.

It looks like there was a mix of scrambling and specials in the show. Did you get to see any of the bikes being used?

I took over well 100 pics, but I'm a Honda guy so the main focus of the ones I uploaded are of those. There were quite a few BMWs at the show, and a few Ducatis, with only two Moto Guzzis in attendance. There were also some Italian-American bikes like the one sold by Sears/Montgomery Wards and the Harley Aermacchi.

By far the most popular overseas brand was Triumph, with Bonnevilles, Scramblers, Thruxtons, Triples and such on site, but of the other British marques I only saw a couple of Nortons and Royal Enfields.

The bummer was that the show was so close to home that I walked over, but no one there had a CB400T (Hawk) or NT650 (Hawk GT) so my favorites had no representation.

As for riding, there was a stunt show before I got there, but other than seeing other attendees coming and going I didn't see many of the bikes in action.

Yesterday, I was up in London for my regular Family History Society meeting. The venue is close to the Barbican, and I have posted views of the area on the forum before now.

These shots are of the entrance to a quaint night walk - the narrow arched section on the right. I need to take some of the walk itself - it has a real Dickensian feel to it.

I go to the venue by train and change trains at Blackfriars Station. I cannot wait for the builders to leave site! .....

... So that I can step outside to take some better photos of those tantalising glimpses of central London :)

Before our meeting, we witnessed the RAF fly past on its approach to Buckingham Palace in connection with Trooping the Colour.

The camera card was full! So I had to off load the card and use the spare capacity in the camera's memory. I picked a building to aim at and took the photos as the aircraft were passing my aim point. I had no idea whether I had captured anything. So apologies if some photos are not properly centred. ;)

I like the photos of the flyover. I believe the first one shows a Lancaster bomber. Was this in honour of the Queen's birthday?

Yes, it's the Lancaster. One of the 2 which are airworthy. I was lucky to get her on the last frame of the memory card. I think she flew down from her Lincolnshire base which is about 100 miles from London.

The fly past was in honour of the Queen's official birthday. It occurs after Trooping the Colour. I've never got tickets for the actual day, but I did manage to buy 2 tickets for the rehearsal at Horse Guards Parade some 20 years ago. Attending that was a highlight in my life.

There's an airworthy Lancaster in Canada, is that the second one you mentioned?
