We were accidentally at the Trooping The Colour parade on the Mall. On our way from Regent Street to County Hall we ended up on some open stairs in St James with a perfect view just before the Royals and the rest of the parade passed by. We didn't get to see the flyover as we had other plans but probably a good thing judging by the rain later in the day!

How lucky you were...perfect timing after coming back from your outing! Ivy posted a thread of trooping of colour Saturday--it looked lovely. No pics of it posted, but I had a peek on the web to view it!
My son's girlfriend got pics of the Lifeguards and I think all of the royals. The guardsmen in their bearskins looked very impressive. His girlfriend had wanted to see it but because she isn't so tall we had decided against it (the crowds were enormous!) and we couldn't believe how we just found the perfect position by accident, the police closed the area off as soon as we walked in!

That's just wonderful! Hope she had a good zoom camera that's fast on taking pics! I tried looking for some video online, but only came across stills Saturday! You're right, you did get there just in time!! It seemed meant to be!!![]()
Here's a photo of a Bison sculpture that the homeowner made himself.

I don't know. It's a hard stone though, it must have been quite a job to carve it.What is it made of?

This stone was erected some time ago. It shows the emblem of my village, parts of it's name (a few letters are missing), the date when it was mentioned the first time in a document (8 is missing: 1318 ), and the year when it became market town.

That's a nice monument. Are there any older buildings left in your village?
After much maneuvering, the trailer is in place at my new home in Walla Walla, WA (USA). I'm having to use my iPhone's hotspot for internet at the moment. I'll probably get something faster next month. The the LTE isn't bad here. Even a tad faster than the connection at the old park.
