I grew up in upstate(Binghamton), NY. I remember as a kid, playing in 3 or more feet of snow with my brother during any given winter, and having a ball. I remember occasionally having the temperature drop below 0°F, and not being phased by it. The coldest I remember was -9°F, but single digits were normal. Nowadays at 62 years old, and having lived in the south a large majority of my adult life, I am intolerant to cold extremes. Here in the Raleigh, NC area, it dips into the teens occasionally, and even that makes me shiver. I cannot even imagine having to deal with the extreme cold where you live. I mean jeeze, I remember as a kid peeing in the snow, but I'd be scared to take a leak outside in the winter where you are.
