The concept of an island just large enough for a house is really neat, but I love your Aunt Gwynn's painting. I hope you have it hanging somewhere you are able to enjoy it every day, I sure would.

Thank you zstairlessone - the painting is hanging in my study and in front of me now. The picture framing was done by my uncle. They founded an art gallery in Menai Bridge, Anglesey.

I'm interested in what it takes to refit a wooden hulled yacht, like yours. Pictures would be welcome.

Hear here, my sentiments too, and I enjoy the pictures also.

Please do. I've always been fascinated by boats and ships, especially the sail variety.

Just go on posting. Your pictures never are boring. :-)

Ok :) thanks for the positive feedback. I'll post images and tell you what goes on.

First, -on the picture where Orca is on the launching ramp, you can see ice damage at the waterline.

It happened winter before this last one. To give you some reality on that frigid, snowy, icy winter, I'll show you some of the harbor, boats and our yacht assaulted by the ice and snow. It was truly a record breaking winter in many ways.

Here is our Orca surrounded by snow and ice

My husband took good care of her by going to the harbor and clearing snow off her every day.

We also had a heater going on inside her 24/7, trying to keep the ice from squeezing her hull.

Another boat not cared for by her owner.

This winter, at Christmas, two fishing boats sunk under heavy snow. They were tied together and both were totaled. They were moored x-the bay and not in a harbor.

So, back to present time and Orca. The first thing to do is to use a high pressure sand/water blasting to get all the barnacles and loose paint off.
