They're supposed to represent new immigrants to Canada. I'll photograph the plaque tomorrow and add it to the post, it explains everything.

Interesting photos sci. Are you saying the cut down or incomplete statues represent the immigrants? When I first looked at them I thought they may have been vandalised by someone stealing the copper or brass metal. We've had a spate of copper thefts here in Adelaide due to the high copper prices.

I like things that make my eyes hurt at first glance, especially those that don't resolve into the neat and comfortable at the second or third. These are wonderful, wish I could see them live. Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification. Gosh, that's certainly a unique concept. I don't know what to think about the one with the disjointed hand sticking out of his pocket. Rather an unsettling view somehow....
