import some bookmarks from macbook to iPad

i know i can sync the bookmarks to the iPad but i would like to do just certain ones.can i just import certain folders or can i make differant bookmarks folder,put them in it and import the new bookmarks folder.would i assume i have to sync them one way or the other i just don't need but certain bookmarks.
