Epic Games announced via its blog today that the Unreal Engine 3-powered award-winning smash hit iPad/iPhone game Infinity Blade will have a new content pack upgrade, called Arena, available as a free download this Thursday May 19. The huge update will include the long-awaited Infinity Blade multiplayer mode, Enter the Arena, where you can take on the role of a Titan or Knight and battle your friends in online multiplayer matches via Game Center. Also included in the update is Survivor Mode, where players must survive as long as possible in the face of the relentless Titan hordes, as well as new Holiday helms, with a new helm for every season. Over 24 new magic rings, swords, shields and helmets are also provided by the free update. And finally, Facebook integration is also introduced via the update, so that you can view your character in your profile and also take screen shots and share them with your friends.
The update doesn’t go live until Thursday, but if you don’t already have the game, you can click here to download it for $5.99: Infinity Blade for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad on the iTunes App Store
