Have you had enough of (just) Facebook and Twitter showing up on your iPhone? Well, good news, with the advent of iOS 7, Apple will apparently attempt to diversify things in the social media sector. Why do we say that?

Well, because Hamza Sood, who later sent his discovery to 9to5mac, stumbled upon some interesting code lines in one developer’s iOS 7 Beta. He spotted some references made to a singular sign-on system for LinkedIn – the professional entity of social media. More than that, he got excited when he noticed that the system was similar to the ones used for Twitter and Facebook. Basically what this means is that we might end up see LinkedIn deep integration with the new Apple operating system.

But things are not that simple. The two companies have to strike a deal first and negotiate their own terms. In 2010, Apple was experimenting with a similar integration of Facebook for its iOS 4, but ended up dropping the project when the operating system finally came out on the market. Consumer finally saw Facebook as a constant presence in the iOS as late as 2012 via iOS 6. The same thing might happen with LinkedIn, and this might be just a trial phase.

On the other hand, full LinkedIn integration does make a lot of sense too, as it was already announced that the social media will get privileged treatment within the new OS X Mavericks. When it will get released, users will be able to share stuff directly to LinkedIn from their browsers or other native Apple apps.
