iOS6 google maps permission error

I added google maps back to my iPad 3 desktop after upgrading to the wonderful iOS6. Everyone knows how great the Apple Maps are. After reinstalling google maps an error appears stating google maps permission error exists. The recommendation is to reset the Location & Privacy settings to fix. I have read other posts that this doesn't work. Does anyone have a suggestion? I have google maps running again on my iPhone 4S (iOS6) without a problem. Apple Maps may get fixed but it really it terrible today. I need help to get google maps to have access to location services. Help!
