Ipad 1 3G not booting.

Hi yall
I was giving an Ipad 1 3G that will not boot. When connected to PC is just does a quick grey flash then black and continues that cycle. I have tried the reset option and about everything I can find on the web so far. No, it is not seen by windows or itunes. I even tried the "slap on the back" option to no avail. Any suggestions?
