Given that Doctor Who is on a mid season break (until SEPTEMBER....aaaahhhhhhh), Torchwood should see us through.

the posts on some threads are hilarious, I must say!

Hey, guys, I've just discovered my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 has just used the iCloud to synch an app I downloaded (Leafsnap) to both devices, how cool is that! I am so excited about this! No more duplicating apps for both of them anymore! Yay!

Typical! Neither do I, so it's no good asking you then, Is it? Each drive has 60gb so that's 120gb so is that enough to backup? On the off chance could I put windows backup onto a mac? Would you know that or do I have to rely on my old favourite Internet for answer?
Yes, thanks Richard, any advice would be good right now!

Maplin has a 1Tb hard drive on offer for £55 approx. Don't know if it's online only. I have a link to their catalogue on my desktop.

Check the make then google for reviews, maplin has a habit of selling poor quality products for bargain basement prices......that's not to say I haven't bought from them before but I've generally regretted it. For reliable HD's I normally go for one of the main makes (western digital is my drive of choice) and normally you can get a good capacity drive on places like amazon, play.com, etc as they are often having product promotions.

I would be surprised if you can't get a good quality drive for a somewhat similar price at one of the other outlets.

Yes I agree about checking the reviews. I used to subscribe to Computer Shopper for their Labs tests and reviews. CS gave good service. (we bought our first flat screen TV based on a CS review & it's was/still is the best TV purchased.) I don't now subscribe for economic reasons, and little time to read the mags.

I haven't bought anything major at Maplin. I use them for cables, CDs etc., but do look and wonder at the "bargains".
