AppleInsider reports today that according to a note to investors issued by analyst Chris Whitmore from Deutsche Bank today, the release of Apple’s next iPad, which looks likely to be sometime this March, should create a “window of opportunity†for Apple, in particular because as the same time it is unlikely that any of Apple’s competitors will have any products launching that are capable of going up against the iPad 3. Whitmore says that this lack of completion from other products should see Apple’s lead in the mobile computing market increasing even further.
According to AppleInsider, Whitmore, like many other commentators and analysts, expects the iPad 3 to have a high-resolution display, quad-core CPU, graphics that are four or five times faster than the iPad 2, and Siri built in. He believes that such a significant upgrade in features will help to further blur the already increasingly blurry line between tablets and notebooks that has been lead from the front by the iPad, with it being used for textbooks, medical diagnostic tools and pilot flight bags.
