According to a report on iDownload Blog today, the next full-sized iPad looks likely to use different touchscreen technology than the current iPad 4 does, with Apple looking to use the same sort of GF2 display tech that the iPad mini has. This would have the effect of making the next full-sized iPad’s display assembly thinner than the current glass-on-glass unit if the report were to be accurate, and that certainly supports other recent rumours about the next iPad, which have said it will be thinner and lighter than previous models. The original story was sourced from Japanese blog Macotakara, which cited sources from two Taiwanese news agencies. The article also noted possible suppliers for the next iPad, including Nitto Denko, TPK and Japan Display. Foxconn is said to be taking care of assembly, as usual. As iDownload Blog notes, it is interesting to see that Wintek does not appear to be part of Apple’s plans this time around. [/FONT]
