iPad app to upload which has converted version of my iPhone app:

Hi,

We have an iPhone app in App store. We have developed now the same app for iPad and want to upload this also. But, i heard that Apple will reject if we try to upload the iPad version app, which has exactly converted version of our iPhone app which is in App store. Is it true? If yes, how can i upload my iPad app now, which is similar to iPhone. My app is not Universal binary, so i didn't created this app in that way.
Could someone share you ideas please?
