Ipad Camera Connection Kit

Fairly new to Ipad and just purchased the Apple original Camera Kit comprising what I thought was a universal no prob adaptor, however when connecting the camera and then my Blackberry via the USB adaptor I get message x 2 that both device cannot be connected because they both 'Use Too Much Power' if this is an Apple ploy to prevent download from Blackberry I understand, but my camera is Nikkon and no where in the instruction kit does it mention what is not compatable, can anyone help?

Sometimes there are issues with the camera connection kit USB kit where not enough power is supplied. Try using the SD card kit if your camera uses SD.
