ipad external keyboard: lockup when plugging in

Hi.

I recently bought an external keyboard for my ipad 1.
Sometimes, when the pad was not restarted for a few hours, when plugging in to the keyboard the ipad locks up.
When I restart the ipad before plugging in, there is no lockup.
When the keyboard is plugged in an pad did not lock up, the keyboard is working perfectely.

The lockup happens always, when the device was on for a few hours.

Does anybody have a solution?

I have been experiencing lock outs with my iPad 2, and after reading your post I am wondering if my Logitech case/keyboard is the culprit. I was locked out for some time today, and I was finally able to sign into my iPad again several hours later. I can't remember if I signed in with the external keyboard, or not, though. I wasn't looking to the keyboard as being a problem. If it is not the keyboard then I am very frustrated by this issue.
