Our design is meant to slip easily in and out of the vehicle. You slip the tablet in when you drive and take it with you when you leave.
I've said this before, and have written articles on how to use a tablet in a car, but I will touch base on the uses again for the people that think the tablet isn't a good idea in your dash.
-Every new car has a screen of some size in the dash. Even cheap cars. The factory screen is usually 7", a tablet is 10" which makes it much easier to navigate music, navigation, etc. on
-The navigation is not only much bigger, and has larger buttons than factory, but it has google built in. There aren't any factory navigation systems that have internet built in that allow you to have real time stats on where you are going.
-You can have your entire music collection at your fingertips. Much easier to navigate than a factory radio with an iPod hooked up to it.
-Free Pandora radio
-News alerts that notify you of Amber Alerts, road closures, etc.
-Real Time traffic built in the navigation app to show you exactly what the traffic is like ahead with still image views of traffic cameras
-When pulled over you can send messages and emails quickly with also being able to add video and picture attachments stored on your device.
For Police and Fire vehicle
We have sold many of our kits for police and vehicle applications.
-Dispatch services directly on the tablet. if there is an emergency call, dispatch can give specific notes on what they need to do when they get to the scene.
-Much better navigation with street view of where they need to go.
-Send reports at a scene without having a large bulky laptop
-The tablet can be used for many things while driving to the scene, then easily removed to take the tablet on the scene itself. (Has anyone seen Dexter? They are using tablets on the crime scenes now)
I know that there will be the people that will want to drive and watch movies on their tablet, but those same people are already doing so with factory DVD or aftermarket systems that they have modified to play while driving. We do not want people watching netflix while driving, that isn't what the Padholdr is intended for.
