iPad mini 3 iOS 9 - notes app

Anyone else managed to use the new features on the notes app since the upgrade to iOS 9?

My iPad mini I can draw but not create checklists.
My iPad 2 and iPhone 4S I can create checklists but cannot draw.

What's going on? Any ideas?

I've at least tried all the new features, and they all work. The iPad Mini 3 should work just fine. No idea why it would support drawing but not checklists.

Everything works fine on my iPad Air and iPhone 6 Plus.

We're up to iOS 9.02, so if you haven't installed the latest bug fix update, try that. I don't remember a Notes bug listed, but you never know.

In Notes drawing works OK
Not sure about Check lists.
Is the below a Check List?
If not how does one create such a list?

Yes. That is a check list. When the keyboard is inactive you can tap on the circles to check them off.
