ipad wont boot up

I was just using my ipad and looked down and the apple icon was on the screen. It has a full charge i couldn't get it to boot up past the apple icon. I did a soft reset by pressing the home key and start up at the same time, now it has the apple icon on and when I press the home button it has the itunes icon with a picture of a the cable like it needs to be charged. I can't get it to go beyond this.. Can anyone help with this issue????? thanks Glenda

It appears as if your iPad has reset itself. So, what happens when you connect it to iTunes? Do you get a message from iTunes saying what's going on?

i just tried to reset my iPad through iTunes. It went through the whole process then said it couldn't be done because it didn't recognize the device..any suggestions now?

There was an iTunes update a few days ago. Make sure iTunes on your computer is up to date.
Change cables, if it's still not recognizing the iPad.

I have the latest software and it still doesn't recognize my iPad. I changed cables also, still nothing..
