Sometimes when I tap my ipad screen the icons or links or whatever will not respond to my touch! Repeated tapping may help but not always. I do a lot of work with my hands and my finger tips are pretty calloused. Occasionally there is glue or paint residue on my fingers, but I try to keep my hands clean when using the touch screen. Could callouses and / or thick skin be the reason for this lack of responsiveness? Is there any work-around? Thanks!

With iPad's type of touchscreen, I think callouses and glue or paint residue could make a diff. Maybe you could try using a stylus.

Agreed. And you can use two of them when typing. Can't ya tell how rapidly this was typed? Yup, used two styli! LOL?

There are some really good buys out there for styli, particularly the multi-packs. However, you usually get what you pay for. The cheapies don't slide well for long, but are fine for clicking and typing.
