I recently replaced the digitizer screen in my Ipad2. All went well and I thought I was home free until I tried to turn on the Ipad with the on/off switch. It did not respond with any signs of life. So I plugged in the AC adapter and it came to life. Unfortunately, it still does not respond to the on/off switch, and I found the volume control buttons do not work as well. Switching the mute button on/off does switch from a speaker icon to a bell icon, but I get no other indications of volume control. In desperation, I replaced the power and volume control cable with a new one, but the problem persists. Any advice appreciated.....and no, I doubt I'll ever try this again. Thanks.

First, I apologize that I posted in the wrongb place, and even now I'm not sure I'm closing this thread properly. However, I decided to install another new on/off/volume switch cable, and that resolved my issue.

Well that is great to hear that you have now fixed your problem and thank you for letting us know also.

I moved your post as I did want someone to help you and it wasn't likely to get the attention of members who do try to help where it was. So if you need some help with something, the best place to post it is in the Help Forum.....no problem at all here though! Enjoy!
