iPad3 Assigned Name Changing ?

Hello,

In Settings, regarding the "name" you give for your iPad3:

Can the name be changed without messing anything else up ?
(the salesperson at the Apple Store put in a name for me, which I don't care for)

And, does the iPad name have to agree with the same "name" that my Windows PC was assigned ?
