9to5 Mac readers have spotted something very interesting in a review of the Verizon iPhone by the New York Times’ David Pogue. The review included the following quote about the new iPhone’s Personal Hotspot feature, which will be coming with iOS4.3:
“The single new feature in Verizon’s iPhone is Personal Hotspot…
… Many other app phones have it – AT&T’s iPhone gets it on Feb 13â€.
Not long after the story was posted, the Feb 13 date was changed to “soonâ€.
As 9to5 Mac points out, February 13 is a Sunday, so a very unusual day for an iOS update to be released, but why would Pogue have mentioned the date otherwise, which is also apparently the day that AT&T is upping its bandwidth and offering hotspots to Android phone owners. Chances are that February 13 is not the actual date that iOS 4.3 will be released, but possibly it's a pointer that it will be coming a couple of days later?
