Hi,

Does iTunes ever offer movies for free? I know there are apps like Crackle (which is pretty poor in content) but I just wondered whether they ever felt randomly generous?

The only thing I have seen is free TV shows and music. If they have ever done a free movie, I missed it.

They may have done it in one of their 12 days of Christmas promotions.......I seem to recall that I got a free one once.......but so infrequent that it isn't something worth relying on and then, chances of it being a film that you want to see......you probably have a better chance of winning the lottery!

Of course, if you want to spend your time productively, then go to iTunes, at the bottom right hand corner of the screen click iTunes U and then you are into a wonderful world of thousands of hours of free 'movies' - lecture course videos from some of the best Universities in the world. Most are free to download and keep. So, if you want to attend a course in Quantum Mechanics, Digital Signal Processing, Computer Architecture - or even learn how to program apps for the iPad - they're all there completely free.

How could any Hollywood blockbuster possibly compete with that resource? I'm just amazed that Apple doesn't publicise it more.
