iTunes UK Now Selling HD Movies

MacRumors has received reports from some of its readers who have spotted that the UK iTunes Store is now selling HD movies. It doesn’t look as if they have their own section or anything, and they seem to have arrived on the store without much fanfare. When you click on a movie title, if it's available in HD you’ll be given the option to pay £12.99 to buy the HD version, or £4.49 to rent the HD version. There are also some cheaper HD movies available to buy for £7.99. Let’s hope they add some more titles soon, as at the moment there are only a handful available, and a dedicated HD section would also be useful so that you can tell at a glance when a film is available in HD.

As MacRumours points out, the UK iTunes store has been selling and renting movies since 2008, but until now, HD movies have been rental only, and with a very small selection to choose from. HD movies have been available to buy since March 2009 in the US, so it looks like they’re taking their own sweet time before they roll this out to the iTunes Stores in other countries.
