I have a unjailbroken ipod2g and I want to jailbreak it. When I am putting my iPod to DFU mode my laptop or the program I am jail breaking it can't find my ipod2g

What tool are you using and what version of IOS are you trying to jailbreak?
And to be clear, it is an iPod, and not an iPad, yes? We are an iPad forum after all, and the answer makes a big difference

It's iPOD 2g IOS4.2.1 by red snow

That is a very old device and a very old version of IOS! I'm not sure I can give you reliable info, but...
If your PC is not seeing a device in DFU mode then the drivers are not correctly installed. Get the latest iTunes to get the latest drivers, and check your device manager on Windows to ensure the drivers are correctly installed. If the PC won't see the DFU device then the drivers are the problem.
