What's new

Jailbreaking the ipad is now illegal?

No. Just means everyone needs to add a line to their posts. "By the way, I'm in Canada." ;)

Gzoladz I doubt it will impact it one bit since the only thing that article states is something that was technically already in place but not specifically spelled out.

Plus, if you have the cellular version of the iPad, you can make the argument that it meets the same condition as the iPhone, since it has a cellular radio, a SIM, a phone number assigned to the device and the ability to place and receive calls over the cellular radio.

To paraphrase that old saying, "once jailbreak is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom". (Stay tuned, for soldering iron is also about to become designated as a terrorist weapon, banned for domestic use, in the future ... semi-sarcasm mode now off.)

On a semi-related note... I often wonder why The Community (be it iStuff or elsewhere) doesn't utilize the Corporate PR Weapons of Newspeak and Political Correctness in the language... thus, for example, profoundly saying something like "enhanced usability tweak", "improved user experience", "usability enhancement" etc. instead of "jailbreak" (and, of course, deprecating the latter word). ;)
