Kobo announced today that it's adding a selection of top U.S. and Canadian newspapers and magazines to its eReader iPad and iPhone app, which currently has over 2.2 million eBooks, including hot new releases, New York Times bestsellers, literary classics and thousands of free titles.
The list of digital publications that Kobo has just added to the eReader app includes the likes of The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, plus many regional newspapers such as the Calgary Herald and the Vancouver Sun.
Kobo customers will be able to buy their favourite publications via monthly subscription, with prices starting at $13.99 for newspapers and $2.99 for magazines. Users will have the advantage of a free two-week trial before their subscription fee kicks in. The current edition of a newspaper or magazine can be immediately added to a customer’s library, and with the subscription, customers will receive wireless delivery directly to their Kobo iPad or iPhone app. Puts a whole new spin on morning paper delivery!
