Lack off full screen hdmi since ios 6 update

Hi all, just moved over to Apple after being a windows user and developer since early Dos days, purely due to broken applications after updates. Guess what having bought a new iPad 3 3 weeks ago, received update from Apple to update to iOS 6, now no full screen hdmi video on any of my purchased apps through App Store, no full scale via safari and you tube and now full screen video from Apple videos. I won't even mention the new maps app, which is about as accurate as a chocolate fire guard. Please come on Apple and rectify these problems.
Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance.

Probably no help, but I am holding off on the upgrade because I read about that, and I really like the native YouTube app (seems a small reason not to upgrade, but to me it's really important)

HDMI output wasn't that abundant to begin with (from experience with the apps that I have installed anyway). But I also found that some apps lost their ability to show content full screen on hdmi after the move to IO6.
For some apps like the apple movie trailers app, that's even quite puzzling (although I reckon the big movie studios had something to do with that).
