LAN gaming between iPad and Macbook

My girlfriend has a 2010 Macbook, and I have an iPad. Are there any games we can play with each other at the same time?

It would be neat to play games locally between the two devices like Sky Gamblers, Carcassone, Blood & Glory, Brothers in Arms, Checkers, Chess, Conquist 2, etc.
