Legend of the Skyfish is featured as one of Apple’s “New Games We Love” this week. Published by Crescent Moon Games and developed by MGaia Studios, it has an usual gameplay style, with the lead character Little Red Hook using a fishing pole/grapping hook as her main weapon and tool to help her get around.
It’s reminiscent of old-school Legend of Zelda, with a gorgeous top-down style and an engaging lead character in Little Red Hook.
The hand-painted graphics really bring the locations and characters to life, and you’ll love exploring the beautiful environments, with 45 handcrafted levels in total to visit. The original music score by Sean Beeson adds to the sense of adventure.
The gameplay is pretty challenging at times, with lots of traps, environmental puzzles, and scary monsters to avoid, but luckily the game doesn’t drop you too fast into the deep end and you’ll still have plenty of time to get your sea legs before things get really difficult. The controls are very simple and easy to use, and there’s also MFi Controller Support included.
So many good games out this week, including Deus Ex Go, but Legend of the Skyfish more than holds its own, so be sure to check it out!
